Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Chef for Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital (CB2 8AF). You will prepare high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the dining experience, managing your own kitchen section in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Chef in quality-focused catering environment; healthcare experience desirable.
• Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, allergens, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Passion for producing great-quality food and delivering an excellent experience for patients and customers.
• Ability to work efficiently, follow recipes and instructions, manage tasks.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a positive and flexible approach.
• Good organisation, reliability and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn, develop and complete relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high-quality, nutritious and appealing food for patients, staff and visitors.
• Follow menus, recipes and dietary requirements to ensure consistency.
• Maintain standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
• Keep kitchen areas clean, safe and well-organised during shifts.
• Support smooth kitchen operation and collaborate with colleagues.
• Monitor food quality and presentation and report issues promptly.
• Provide cover and support for colleagues as required.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and deliver high-quality, nutritious and appealing food for patients, staff and visitors.
• Follow menus, recipes and dietary requirements to ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.
• Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, allergen management and health and safety.
• Ensure the kitchen and all work areas are clean, safe and well organised throughout each shift.
• Support the smooth running of the kitchen and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent service.
• Monitor food quality and presentation, reporting and resolving any issues promptly.
• Support special functions and provide cover for colleagues when require
