Job summary

Sandstone Care Group's Longridge Hall Care Home in Longridge is seeking a dedicated Chef to prepare nutritious, home-cooked meals daily for residents in a warm, homely setting.

You will contribute to menu planning, adapt dishes to dietary needs, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen while adhering to health and food hygiene standards. This role offers friendly team environment and opportunities for in-house training.

Join the team at Longridge Hall Care Home, a warm and welcoming residential care home in Longridge, where we prioritize the comfort and well-being of our residents. Longridge Hall offers a unique and homely atmosphere, featuring a reminiscence lounge, a chapel, and even an indoor sensory garden. Under the leadership of our experienced Care Home Manager, Tracey, who has been with us for over 10 years, we foster a supportive and positive environment for both residents and staff.

We’re currently looking for a Chef to join our team. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our catering service, preparing fresh, home-cooked meals from scratch, ensuring that every meal is nutritious, appetizing, and tailored to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Your culinary skills will play an important role in providing residents with a sense of comfort and enjoyment through the food you create.

As a Chefat our home, your role may involve:

• Preparing and cooking fresh, home-cooked meals daily for our residents

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment at all times

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience in a busy kitchen environment, ideally with experience in catering for large groups
• A passion for cooking fresh, wholesome meals, from scratch, using quality ingredients
• A friendly and enthusiastic attitude, with the ability to work well within a team
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage your workload and prioritize tasks
• NVQ level 2 in food hygiene (preferred)
