Job summary

Windmill Lodge Care Home in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, is seeking a full-time Chef to join our Kitchen Team. You will deliver high quality, nutritious meals in a resident-centred setting, with no late evenings or split shifts and a consistent work pattern that supports work-life balance.

You will own food preparation, tailor meals to dietary needs, maintain high hygiene standards and assist with menu planning.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A positive and reliable approach

Job description

Windmill Lodge Care Home is a modern, purpose built 205 bed care home in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, delivering high quality residential, nursing, dementia and respite care within a warm, supportive and person centred environment.

Windmill Lodge have the exciting opportunity a Full time Chef as well as a Bank Chef to join their Kitchen Team.

Chef Contract

• £13.50 per hour
• Contracted to 0-40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview
As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.

The successful full time Chef will be required to work alternate weekends.
