Job summary

Colchester United is seeking a part-time chef to join a friendly, well-established team for match days and events in Colchester. Flexible hours include evenings and weekends, with duties on shifts serving up to 300 people.

You will assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef, help ensure menus reflect current trends, and maintain health and safety standards. Strong teamwork and independent work capability are valued, with preference for experience in banqueting and events.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef
• Ensure menus are produced to a high standard and reflect current trends, seasonal changes and service styles
• Engender good staff, customer and client relations at all times
• Maintain health and safety systems and procedures as per manuals
• Support the management team in all areas of operation
• Be responsible, smart and energetic to work as part of a team or alone
• Experience in banqueting, events and snack menus is preferable but not essential; experience in restaurant or conference and banqueting environments is desirable but not essential
