Job summary

Lark View Care Home is seeking a Chef to deliver high-quality meals for residents, taking ownership of food preparation and service, and ensuring meals meet nutritional needs. The role emphasizes hygiene, presentation, and consistent daily service in a supportive team setting.

The successful candidate will have Level 3 in Food Preparation or equivalent, and will work alternate weekends. Ongoing training and development opportunities are available.

Job description

Our care home has stunning views from both sides looking onto beautiful Kent countryside, and provides a cosy and homely feel for up to 64 residents - We provide Nursing, Residential, Dementia & Respite Care.

Chef Contract

• £16.00 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends, and will hold a Minimum of Level 3 in Food Preparation.

What We Are Looking For

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
