Job summary

Rowan Park Care Home is seeking a Chef to prepare high quality, nutritious meals that support resident wellbeing. You will own food preparation and service, tailoring menus to dietary needs while maintaining presentation and hygiene to a high standard.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals for residents.
• Take ownership of food preparation and service.
• Ensure meals meet dietary needs and nutritional requirements, with high hygiene standards.
• Support menu planning and kitchen organisation, contributing to smooth day-to-day service.

Education

City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Job description

Our modern, traditionally built care home situated in the rural town of Radstock, will provide luxury accommodation for 50-residents. We will specialise in Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care.

Chef Contract

• £16.20 per hour
• Contracted to 0 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.

What We Are Looking For
