Job summary

The Westbury is seeking a talented chef to join our care home kitchen, responsible for running the kitchen and creating nourishing menus for elderly residents. You will lead the kitchen team, ensuring a varied menu and high-quality mealtime experiences that support residents’ wellbeing.

You will design menus, maintain food standards, and help manage budget and resources within the department. Flexibility to work alternate weekends is desired.

Qualifications

• Recent experience of cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting.
• Experience in managing and motivating a catering team.
• Experience providing food for people with special dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design a varied menu reflecting residents' tastes and nutritional needs.
• Ensure mealtimes are a high-quality experience.
• Maintain the highest food standards.
• Support, train and direct the kitchen team.
• Mentor and motivate on quality, safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Assist the General Manager in budgeting and resources management.

Who We Are Looking For

• You should have recent experience of cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting.
• You must have previously managed and motivated a catering team.
• Youll have experience of providing food for people with special dietary requirements.
• Wed like someone who is flexible, who can work alternate weekends.
• An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

How Youll Make a Difference

Youll be responsible for our residents meal experience and running the nursing homes kitchen. Leading and supporting a team, you will:
