Job summary

The Westbury is seeking a skilled chef to lead meals for our elderly residents at The Westbury Care Home. You will design menus, oversee kitchen operations and ensure high-quality mealtimes that support nutrition and wellbeing.

Experience cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting is essential, along with the ability to manage a catering team and meet dietary requirements. DBS check is required; weekend flexibility is preferred.

Who We Are Looking For

• You should have recent experience of cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting.
• You must have previously managed and motivated a catering team.
• Youll have experience of providing food for people with special dietary requirements.
• Wed like someone who is flexible, who can work alternate weekends.
• An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

How Youll Make a Difference

Youll be responsible for our residents meal experience and running the nursing homes kitchen. Leading and supporting a team, you will:

• Designing a varied menu that reflects our residents tastes and supports their nutritional needs.
• Ensuring mealtimes are always a high-quality experience.
• Maintaining the highest food standards.
• Supporting, training and directing the kitchen team
• Mentoring and motivating on quality, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Assisting the General Manager in developing and managing the budgetary, human and material resources within the department.
