Job summary

Longacres Garden Centre is seeking an experienced chef for our busy café in Bagshot. You will work with the kitchen team to prepare orders to a high standard, in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

The role involves cooking fresh ingredients, moving quickly, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service. The team offers a competitive hourly rate and clear opportunities for advancement within our supportive, friendly atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking with fresh ingredients.
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Organised chef who thrives working in a team.
• Experience as Grill/Line/Commis Chef or similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assemble customer orders.
• Complete orders in a timely manner to a high standard.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen after service and maintain prep area.
• Rotate stock and restock pantry/fridge as needed.
• Ensure proper food storage and temperatures.

We have an exciting opportunity for a chef to join our outstanding café team and become part of our very busy, well-established café, your role will be to work alongside our kitchen team to prepare customers’ orders to a high standard. Our menu is nice and simple, sandwiches, paninis, delicious hand-stretched pizzas, pastas, salads, breakfast and daily made specials.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Prep various ingredients such as meats and vegetables
• You will complete customer orders in a timely manner
• Clean the kitchen space after cooking each meal and ensuring the prep area and kitchen is cleaned and sanitised at the end of your shift
• Rotate stock items as per established procedures
• You will restock the pantry and fridge as necessary
• Make sure food items are stored at appropriate temperatures

Key Skills and Competencies

• You must have experience in cooking with fresh food
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen
• We are looking for organised chefs who thrive working in a team.
• Experience as a Grill Chef, Line Chef, Commis Chef looking to step up or anything in between....
