Job summary

Rubislaw Park Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, in Aberdeen's West End, provides Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 86 residents. We seek a Chef to deliver nutritious meals, taking ownership of preparation and service while tailoring to dietary needs and maintaining high hygiene standards.

This role offers a strong work-life balance with no late evenings or split shifts, 40 hours per week, and opportunities for ongoing training and development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 (or equivalent) or working towards.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs.
• Take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of presentation.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety to meet regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to menu planning and kitchen organisation with the team.
• Support residents' wellbeing through nutritious meal provision.

Job description

We are an award-winning care home and nursing facility, based in Aberdeen’s West End. We deliver exceptional levels of Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite care for up to 86-residents.

Chef Contract

• £15.50 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.
