Job summary

Oakbank Care Home in Crieff is seeking a Chef to deliver high quality, nutritious meals for residents in a 70-bed facility. This role focuses on consistent, well-presented dishes that support residents’ wellbeing and comfort.

You will manage food preparation, tailor meals to dietary needs, maintain presentation, hygiene and safety, and support menu planning with a collaborative team, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent required.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals meet dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety.

Job description

Oakbank Care Home is a well established care home in Crieff, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Palliative and Respite care for up to 70 residents. With a strong, supportive team and a focus on high standards of care, the home offers a positive working environment where staff feel valued and supported in their roles.

Chef Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week (Over 4 days)
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.
