Job summary

Contechs Consulting are recruiting on behalf of a leading automotive organisation for a Chassis Project Engineer - Steering Systems on a contract basis. Hybrid working arrangement across Midlands/Surrey, with focus on steering system development and programme milestones.

The role requires creating technical specifications, developing DFMEAs, releasing ER/MR, and working with cross-functional teams and suppliers to meet performance, cost and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chassis Steering Systems Project Engineer in automotive industry.
• Strong ability to create technical specifications for steering components and assemblies.
• Solid understanding of engineering cost implications and commercial awareness.
• Experience managing project timing plans and delivering to programme milestones.

Responsibilities

• Lead steering system development across vehicle programmes.
• Create and maintain technical specifications for steering components and assemblies.
• Develop and manage DFMEAs to support robust product development.
• Coordinate and release Engineering Releases (ER) and Management Releases (MR).
• Manage project timing, deliverables and milestones to ensure programme success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to meet performance, quality and cost targets.
• Support cost-aware design and delivery decisions in commercial discussions.
