Job summary

Red Bull Technology is offering an Undergraduate Student placement in the System Design department at our Milton Keynes campus. The year-long placement runs from summer 2027 and will involve practical work across chassis systems and power unit installation.

You will perform mechanical design, material selection, CAD work (Siemens NX preferred), and produce technical documentation while collaborating with designers, managers and engineers from across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Understanding of chassis and power unit systems design.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and calculations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams.
• Good understanding of 3D CAD; Siemens NX is preferable.
• Ability to produce engineering drawings.
• A passion for mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of chassis components and PU installation with tooling and jigs.
• Involvement in material selection (metallic, polymeric, and composite), rig testing and structural sign-off.
• CAD design, CAD draughting, calculations and fault diagnosis.
• Prepare technical documentation to support designs.
• Develop problem solving and communication through collaboration with designers, managers, mechanics, and engineers.
• Follow department best practices for all activities.
