Job summary

VIQU IT is seeking a Mechanical Chassis Design Engineer in Warwick with hybrid working options. The role focuses on full lifecycle design from concept to validation, joining a dedicated chassis team of eight.

You will influence manufacturability, cost and performance while collaborating with suppliers and customers. Applicants should have 3–4 years in mechanical vehicle design, strong sheet-metal knowledge, and solid drawing skills.

Qualifications

• At least 3–4 years' mechanical design experience within vehicles, yellow goods, heavy machinery, trailers, tankers or similar.
• Strong understanding of chassis structures, systems integration, stress, strain and fatigue.
• Experience designing fabricated or sheet-metal components, brackets and structural assemblies.
• Ability to read and produce high-quality technical drawings.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to make clear engineering decisions.
• HNC, HND, apprenticeship or equivalent practical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Designing and detailing chassis systems, structures and mechanical components.
• Producing engineering drawings and accurate Bills of Materials.
• Supporting DVP&R, design reviews and product validation.
• Resolving manufacturing, build and field-service issues through root-cause analysis.
• Working with suppliers, customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Considering manufacturability, cost, quality and performance throughout the design process.
