A leading steel and mining company in London is seeking a Chartering Manager to lead a team in cargo shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive market knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and a degree related to the Maritime Industry. Qualifications

  • At least 10 years' experience with dry cargo shipping at senior level.
  • Extensive exposure to dry cargo market for supermax to Capesize.
  • Proficient in voyage estimation.
  • Familiar with latest decarbonization rules.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 6 traders in AM Shipping. Must be able to fix vessels for cargo and cargo for vessels.
  • Handle a volume of 75 mil mt cargo trade.
  • Secure market cargo and operate ships on spot as well as on medium to long term.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual freight budgets.
  • Demonstrate good strategic thinking for efficient freight management.
  • Negotiate contract terms for both voyage and time charter parties.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of all routes in the world for dry cargo shipping.
Qualifications
  • Education: Degree preferably related to Maritime Industry.
  • Skills & Specifications:
  • Good at Mathematics, negotiation skills, sound knowledge of basic maritime contracts like charter parties.
  • Good commercial sense.
  • Good broking skill.
  • Team player with leadership quality and HR skill.
  • Good connections with ship owners, cargo owners and brokers.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit in addition to managerial skill.
  • Work experience: At least 10 years' experience with dry cargo shipping at senior level; extensive exposure to dry cargo market for supermax to Capesize; proficient in voyage estimation; familiarity with latest decarbonization rules; good understanding of the world economy.
  • Languages: Sound knowledge of English; able to communicate in English.
