Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Building Structures team in Glasgow, with hybrid working and occasional travel to Edinburgh.

You will deliver design across the project lifecycle, from feasibility through to construction support, applying Eurocodes and modern digital engineering tools. Chartered engineers with strong communication and mentoring skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered status with IStructE/ICE is essential.
• Experience designing building structures to Eurocodes.
• Experience with steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures.
• Familiarity with structural analysis and design software; Tekla, Robot and Revit advantageous.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Collaborative mindset with mentoring interest.
• Interest in digital engineering and new design technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design solutions from concept to detailed design.
• Perform structural analysis and design using steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and option studies; assess existing structures.
• Support construction activities with site inspections and technical advice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients; maintain documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
• Develop technical expertise with new technologies and approaches.
