Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join the Buildings & Places team in Cardiff. You will manage client relationships, lead multidisciplinary teams across retail, health, energy, and other sectors, and deliver high-quality surveying services for prestigious projects.

You'll mentor junior surveyors, supervise APC candidates, and contribute to new business opportunities while ensuring health and safety compliance and profitability.

Qualifications

• MRICS Chartered status is essential.
• Sound building surveying knowledge and extensive experience.
• Experience managing clients with focus on profitability and business development.
• Experience mentoring and coaching team members.
• Line management experience is desirable.
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements and statutory compliance.
• Excellent time management and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Undertake building surveying services including feasibility studies, specifications, estimates, approvals and contract administration for refurbishment projects.
• Lead refurbishment, improvement and modernization projects across multiple sectors.
• Apply standard building contracts (JCT/NEC).
• Mentor Building Surveyors and provide supervisor support to junior surveyors on APC.
• Support senior managers in day-to-day activities.
• Line manage junior Building Surveying staff.
• Develop new business opportunities including bids.
