Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking an MRICS Building Surveyor to join a well-established independent consultancy with 50+ years of experience. The role offers variety across residential, healthcare, education, public sector and commercial properties, with a typical project value from £25,000 to £250,000+ and hybrid working between London and Nottingham.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification
• Strong general Building Surveying experience
• Contract Administration experience
• Experience with condition and defect surveys
• Good knowledge of building pathology and remedial works
• Strong technical report-writing skills
• AutoCAD experience
• Excellent organisation and time management
• Confidence dealing directly with clients and contractors
• A UK driving licence would be advantageous
• Experience in public sector or historic buildings beneficial

Responsibilities

• Carrying out building condition and defect surveys across a varied property portfolio
• Investigating building pathology, damp and mould and recommending remedial solutions
• Undertaking PPM surveys across education, healthcare and public sector properties
• Producing technical reports, schedules of condition, specifications and schedules of work
• Completing measured surveys and producing drawings using AutoCAD
• Advising clients on repair, maintenance and refurbishment requirements
• Acting as Contract Administrator on refurbishment and maintenance projects
• Managing projects from inception through to completion, including programme, cost, quality and risk
• Supporting procurement and tender exercises, reviewing contractor returns and making recommendations
• Carrying out site inspections and monitoring works against specifications
