Job summary

Faithorn Farrell Timms in Orpington is seeking a MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor to lead building surveying projects within the social housing and public sectors. You will prepare specifications, assess reports, and manage assignments from inception to completion.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction methods, planning regulations and contract administration, with hands-on site inspection experience and the ability to liaise with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor with proven experience in social housing and public sector projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications and schedules of work.
• Experience with JCT contracts and contract administration.
• Excellent report writing and client liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit planning and building regulations applications for projects.
• Produce tender specifications, carry out tender analysis, and prepare tender reports.
• Assist senior staff with Party Wall matters under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
• Manage selected projects, including stock condition surveys and EPCs.
• Support senior surveyors with contract administration duties under various JCT contracts.
• Carry out site inspections and investigations, diagnosing defects through testing and opening-up works.
• Produce clear, accurate reports on building condition and recommended remedial works, ensuring H&S compliance.
