Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor with MRICS to lead a varied workload across commercial, residential, education and public sector portfolios. You will own projects from inception to completion, contribute to cladding and fire safety offerings, and deliver practical, commercially focused advice.

You will work with experienced Directors, manage multiple projects independently, mentor junior staff, and benefit from a clear pathway toward Associate and Director levels

Qualifications

• MRICS-qualified Chartered Building Surveyor with at least two years' post-qualification experience in a consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of construction, building pathology and contract administration.
• The ability to manage multiple projects independently with high standards.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills with confidence in client interactions.
• A commercial mindset and proactive problem-solving approach.
• Ambition to progress toward senior leadership within a growing consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse range of building surveying instructions from initial appointment through to completion.
• Carry out condition surveys, defect diagnosis and building pathology investigations.
• Act as Contract Administrator on refurbishment, repair and fit-out projects.
• Deliver cladding assessments, fire safety surveys and remediation advice.
• Provide guidance on Building Regulations, statutory compliance and fire safety requirements.
• Produce high-quality technical reports, specifications, schedules of condition and dilapidations documentation.
• Undertake technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys.
• Support and mentor Assistant and Graduate Surveyors as they develop their careers.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

The Role

From day one, you’ll take ownership of a varied workload, advising clients across commercial, residential, education and public sector portfolios. You’ll deliver a broad range of professional building surveying services while playing an important role in the consultancy’s expanding cladding and fire safety offering.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building lasting client relationships, and delivering practical, commercially focused advice.

About You

You’ll be an MRICS-qualified Chartered Building Surveyor with:

• At least two years' post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction, building pathology and contract administration.
• The ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining exceptional standards.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills with confidence in front of clients.
• A commercial mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• The ambition to continue developing your career towards senior leadership.
