Job summary

Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic Sales Assistant for a part-time, temporary role in Cheltenham. You will support the Shop Manager and volunteers to deliver strong customer service and help run the shop efficiently.

Key duties include assisting customers, maintaining displays, promoting Gift Aid, handling cash procedures, and training volunteers. The role requires a friendly, proactive approach and willingness to travel to nearby shops as needed.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused experience in paid or voluntary roles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and reliability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising throughout the shop.
• Assist customers from entry to purchase, providing exceptional service.
• Explain Gift Aid and other promotions to customers.
• Complete paperwork including cashing up and banking procedures.
