Job summary

Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) in Stevenage is seeking a part-time Sales Assistant to support the Shop Manager and a team of hardworking volunteers, delivering excellent customer service and driving shop performance.

You will help maintain visual standards, assist customers, promote Gift Aid, handle cash, train volunteers, sort stock, and travel to other shops as needed; a rewarding role with generous benefits and an inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service delivered in a volunteering or paid role
• Able to work well with the Shop Manager and volunteers
• Reliable and adaptable to changing tasks

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising throughout the shop
• Assist customers from entry to purchase
• Explain benefits of Gift Aid and other promotions
• Complete cashing up and banking procedures
• Support and train volunteers
• Sort and prepare donated stock
• Travel to other shops within a cluster as needed
• Support the Shop Manager with best practices and safety
• Run the shop daily in the Manager's absence
• Uphold SATCoL values in behaviour
