Job summary

British Heart Foundation in Washington is seeking a part-time Sales Assistant to join our busy furniture store. You’ll deliver friendly, first-class service, handle tills, merchandize donated items and support online sales with the E-Commerce team.

The role is 14 hours a week, requires weekend and bank holiday availability, and involves some heavy lifting. No formal retail experience required, just energy, enthusiasm and a passion for sustainability.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience isn’t essential; passion, energy and customer service are valued.
• Comfortable guiding volunteers on the shop floor
• Able to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota
• Physically capable of lifting large items and moving donations

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers and promote the charity’s mission
• Organise and merchandise donated stock to maximise sales
• Collaborate with the E-Commerce team to boost online sales
