Job summary

West Midlands Synod of the United Reformed Church in Yardley, Birmingham, seeks a Finance/Accounting professional on a fixed-term basis to support the Finance Officer and assist with financial management for Synod affairs.

You will be an excellent communicator with strong technical skills, able to work in a team and on your own initiative. One year fixed-term contract with potential extension and Safer Recruitment adherence.

Qualifications

• You will have a suitable professional qualification and experience of financial matters.
• Experience in financial matters, preferably relevant to a church, charity or not-for-profit organisation.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; good problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the Finance Officer in accounting and financial management work for the Synod.
• Liaise with the Honorary Treasurer and provide advice to local churches and Synod staff.
• Learn quickly about the way the Synod works and work effectively both in a team and independently.
