Job summary

TPF Recruitment is assisting a leading accountancy practice in their search for a Part Qualified Accountant to join the Audit team, with a focus on the Charity and Not for Profit sector in Chichester.

You will support audit planning, execution and completion, assist with financial statement preparation and work closely with clients to gather information and resolve queries, developing strong technical foundations in a specialist sector.

Qualifications

• Fully AAT qualified or part qualified ACA or ACCA.
• Strong interest in audit and the charity and not-for-profit sector.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Previous audit experience would be advantageous.
• Experience working with charity or not-for-profit clients would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of charity accounting frameworks such as SORP would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, execution and completion of audit assignments.
• Prepare audit working papers in line with firm and regulatory standards.
• Support fieldwork including testing of controls and substantive procedures.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and year end accounts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and charity regulations.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
• Develop skills through on the job learning and feedback.
