NHS Tayside is seeking a Band 6 RNLD or RNMH for the Learning Disability Assessment Unit. This role involves supporting patients with learning disabilities and complex care needs in a mixed-sex ward. We currently have a vacancy for a Band 6 RNLD or RNMH to work within the Learning Disability In-Patient Services.
The Learning Disability Assessment Unit (LDAU) is a 10-bedded assessment ward for people with learning disabilities, currently based within the Carseview Centre. LDAU is a mixed-sex ward supporting individuals with complex care needs.
Each patient has a learning disability and may also have physical and mental health issues. Patients in LDAU can present with challenging behavior due to conditions such as autism, trauma, adverse childhood events, and involvement with Police Scotland and the Criminal Justice System. Many of the patients have been in care for several years.
The ward is currently located at Carseview Centre but will move to Murray Royal Hospital (date to be confirmed), becoming a single site in Perth.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 of the UK NMC Register.

Hours of work are 148 hours over 4 weeks. This is a Fixed Term/Secondment position for 6 months.
