PSYCHIATRY OF OLD AGE SERVICES
Full-time 37 hours per week x2 posts
An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a skilled practitioner, interested and committed to working with Older People with Mental Health Problems, to assist the Senior Charge Nurse in leading a team of staff in delivering high-quality care.
Psychiatry of Old Age Angus – Inpatient units have two specialist dementia assessment units, and one functional admission and assessment unit within Psychiatry of Old Age services in Angus. These posts will be based x1 Band 6 within Rowan Unit - functional admission and the other x1 Band 6 within Willow Unit, a specialist dementia assessment unit.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Charge Nurse in planning, developing, and leading the service and multi-disciplinary team. They will be able to demonstrate a clear commitment to the care of Older People with Mental Health Problems and a willingness to respond positively to change. Candidates should also demonstrate a sound understanding of national and local agendas relating to this specialty and profession.
Candidates should be an RMN, registered with the UK National Midwifery Council (UK NMC), and be able to demonstrate equivalent experience at Band 5 Level. In addition, they should be able to demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development and leadership skills.
Hours of work: 37 per week.
The post holder will be required to participate in the provision of a 24-hour service and to work day or night duty, depending on the needs of the service. This would be remunerated accordingly.
