Job summary

PK Education Limited is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in specialist schools across Sheffield. You will work one-to-one and with small groups, supporting learning through sensory resources and activities to help pupils engage and feel comfortable in class.

You will respond to behaviour calmly and consistently, working alongside the class teacher and wider team. Willingness to travel to placements within the Sheffield area may be required, and an enhanced DBS is preferred or

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND in a school or equivalent setting.
• Patient, adaptable approach and experience supporting low-level challenging behaviour.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one to work in schools.
• Willingness to travel up to an hour to reach specialist school placements.

PK Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in specialist schools across the Sheffield area. You’ll support children who may display low-level challenging behaviour, using sensory equipment and activities to help them engage in learning and feel comfortable in the classroom.

The role
