iForce Connect in the United Kingdom seeks a CFD engineer to deliver advanced simulations within Building Engineering Services. You will apply fluid dynamics and thermodynamics to optimize airflow, thermal comfort, and ventilation across UK and international projects.

You will work with senior specialists and multidisciplinary teams to translate architectural and MEP drawings into robust CFD models, contributing to QA/QC, reporting, and innovation in CFD methodologies.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in CFD modeling using ANSYS.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics.
• Ability to interpret MEP, structural, civil drawings.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
• Active membership in or commitment to professional registration/chartership (IMechE, CIBSE, IET, IoP, IMA).
• Specialized simulation experience in data centre cooling, airflow management, and thermal optimization.
• Experience with indoor thermal comfort assessments, natural/mixed-mode ventilation, cleanrooms, atria, or industrial environments.
• External microclimate modeling (wind comfort, parking/ventilation).
• Fire dynamics and smoke control modeling (e.g., FDS).
• Pre-processing/meshing tools: ANSYS SpaceClaim, Fluent Meshing, DesignModeler, Rhino, Grasshopper.
• Familiarity with OpenFOAM, ParaView.
• Linux, HPC, scripting (Python, C/C++, VBA).

Aufgaben

• Build, mesh, run, and interrogate CFD models under the guidance of senior technical leads.
• Interface with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to identify requirements and deliver tailored simulations.
• Interpret complex drawings to extract geometry and parameters.
• Conduct QA/QC to ensure model accuracy and numerical validity.
• Collate, analyze, and present simulation results and reports to internal teams and clients.
• Support development of CFD methodologies, automation workflows, and best practices.
