Job summary

The John Roan School in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Support Assistant for the Centre for Autism. You will work with the Centre head and inclusion team to support individual or small groups of students, helping to ensure safety and to support their emotional and educational development.

We value flexible, caring and non-judgemental approaches and will support staff development, including enrolment on the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship once appointed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with behavioural issues.
• Willingness to enrol on Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.
• Ability to work with a range of students in an autism-centred setting.

The Role:

As Support Assistant- Centre for Autism for The John Roan School, the post-holder will be an integral part of the Centre for Autism. The Support Assistant will work alongside Head of the Centre for Autism and the wider inclusion team in school to undertake activities with either individuals or groups of children to ensure their safety and to facilitate their physical, emotional and educational development.

About You

We are enthusiastic about the role that the Support Assistant will have in supporting and contributing to the development of students with behavioural issues. As a Support Assistant, you must be firm, caring, non-judgemental and understanding. Demonstrate a flexible and creative approach in the delivery of you work and maintain positive, supportive relationships with individuals and groups of students.
