Job summary

BRE Ltd is seeking a Certification Project Engineer to manage certification projects from enquiry to final approval, supporting clients in achieving compliance with recognised industry standards and certification schemes. You will review data, coordinate testing programmes and provide expert guidance throughout the certification process.

This role involves working with UK and international customers, conducting technical analysis, project management and customer engagement, and you'll liaise

Qualifications

• Experience within passive fire protection, fire testing, product certification, construction products, engineering, material science or a related technical field.
• An understanding of product testing, technical assessment or compliance processes.
• The ability to interpret technical standards, specifications and analytical skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with customers and stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple projects or competing priorities.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• A customer-focused approach, maintaining professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage certification projects from application through to certification decision and certificate issuance.
• Review technical data, test evidence and product information against certification and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and coordinate testing schedules with laboratories and clients.
• Support manufacturers in navigating certification and compliance requirements.
• Assess products against LPCB schemes, UKCA requirements and relevant industry standards.
• Liaise with customers, testing teams, auditors, accreditation bodies and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in internal and external audits, including UKAS assessments.
• Maintain accurate technical records and to the continuous improvement of certification processes and services.
