Job summary

BRE is seeking a Certification Project Engineer to manage certification projects from enquiry to final approval, supporting clients in achieving compliance with recognised industry standards and schemes.

Based in Watford with hybrid working, you will coordinate testing programmes, review data, liaise with laboratories, auditors and clients, and contribute to process improvements across LPCB, UKCA and related schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience in passive fire protection, fire testing or product certification.
• Ability to interpret technical standards, specifications and regulations.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented and methodical problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple projects or competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage certification projects from application through to decision and certificate issuance.
• Review technical data, test evidence and product information against requirements.
• Develop and coordinate testing schedules with laboratories and clients.
• Support manufacturers in certification and compliance processes.
• Assess products against LPCB schemes, UKCA requirements and standards.
• Liaise with customers, testing teams, auditors, accreditation bodies and staff.
• Participate in audits, including UKAS assessments.
• Maintain accurate technical records and documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and services.
