Job summary

ITS Property Maintenance are seeking an experienced Ceramic Wall & Floor Tiler to join our social housing refurbishment programme in Bridgwater and surrounding areas. You’ll focus on kitchen splashbacks and bathroom tiling in occupied and void properties.

You will prepare surfaces, cut and lay tiles, grout and seal, while maintaining health and safety standards to deliver high-quality finishes on targeted refurbishment projects.

Qualifications

• Proven ceramic tiling experience in domestic properties.
• Strong tiling skills for kitchens and bathrooms.
• Able to prep surfaces, set out, measure, cut and fix tiles to a high standard.
• Experience with splashbacks and above-worktop tiling is preferred.
• Social housing refurbishment experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out ceramic wall and floor tiling for kitchen and bathroom refurbishments.
• Prepare surfaces and ensure they are level and ready for tiling.
• Measure, cut and lay tiles; grout and seal to a high finish.
• Complete smaller tiling areas like splashbacks and around fixtures.
• Work safely in occupied residents' homes with good customer service.
• Collaborate with other trades to complete refurbishment programmes.

Overview

ITS Property Maintenance are working with a reputable and growing contractor delivering high-quality planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes within the social housing sector.

Due to continued contract growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Ceramic Tiler to join the team, carrying out planned kitchen and bathroom refurbishment works across occupied and void social housing properties throughout Bridgwater and the surrounding area.

This position is specifically for an experienced Ceramic Wall & Floor Tiler. The role is focused purely on ceramic tiling associated with kitchen and bathroom replacements rather than general multi-trade or vinyl flooring works.

As this is social housing planned maintenance, the work will generally not involve tiling complete walls or full rooms. The majority of the workload will consist of kitchen splashbacks, tiling above worktops and around the washing machine outlet/space, together with smaller areas of bathroom tiling associated with refurbishment works.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work on a well-established social housing contract with a consistent pipeline of planned kitchen and bathroom projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out ceramic wall and floor tiling as part of planned kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programmes
• Completing kitchen splashbacks, above-worktop tiling and tiling around/behind washing machine spaces and outlets
• Completing smaller areas of bathroom tiling around baths, showers, basins and sanitary ware where required
• Preparing walls and floors ready for tiling, ensuring surfaces are level, clean and suitable for installation
• Setting out, measuring and cutting ceramic tiles to achieve a high-quality professional finish
• Removing existing tiles where required and preparing surfaces ready for replacement tiling
• Completing grouting, sealing and finishing works to a high standard
• Carrying out minor making good associated directly with the tiling works
• Working alongside Kitchen Fitters, Bathroom Fitters, Plumbers and other trades to ensure refurbishment programmes are completed efficiently
• Working safely and professionally within occupied residents' homes, maintaining excellent customer service at all times
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy and minimising disruption to residents throughout the works
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements and client quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Ceramic Wall & Floor Tiler within domestic properties
• Strong experience of ceramic tiling within kitchens and bathrooms
• Confident completing smaller planned works such as splashbacks, above-worktop tiling and bathroom repair/replacement areas, rather than solely large-scale or full-room tiling
• Ability to prepare surfaces, set out, measure, cut, fix, grout and finish ceramic tiles to a high standard
• Previous experience working on social housing planned maintenance, kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programmes would be advantageous
• Experience working professionally within occupied residential properties
• Full UK Driving Licence and own van or car
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Wall & Floor Tiling would be advantageous, although experienced time-served Ceramic Tilers will also be considered
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing a high-quality finished product
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
