Kent & Medway is creating something new a Primary Care Provider Collaborative that will give general practice and the wider primary care family a stronger, more strategic and more unified voice. Were looking for a Chief Executive who can take this from concept to reality and shape its future.

This is a role for a leader who thrives in complexity and knows how to build trust fast. You will be the architect of the PCPCs mobilisation, governance and strategic direction, and position primary care as an authoritative, credible partner in the wider system.

Main duties of the job
  • You’ll bring senior level experience, political acumen and the confidence to operate at Chief Executive level. You’ll understand the pressures and potential of primary care and know how to turn ambition into delivery. You’ll connect people, challenge convention and create the conditions for genuine collaboration.
  • Your work will set the tone for the collaboratives future. You’ll shape its vision, build its relationships, and lead the development of new models of care that shift activity upstream and closer to communities. You’ll ensure the PCPC is digitally enabled, data driven and equipped to deliver measurable value for practices, partners and the population.
  • You’ll be the voice of primary care at scale in system conversations clear, credible and influential. You’ll engage widely across practices, federations, regulatory bodies, professional bodies, the ICB and national networks; building momentum and strengthening collective impact.
Qualifications and Experience
  • To succeed, you’ll need a strong track record of executive leadership in complex health environments and the ability to lead multistranded programmes with confidence. You’ll be a strategic thinker, a relationship builder and a leader who can see the whole system and act with clarity.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to build on strong existing foundations, bring people and ideas together, and help primary care find a stronger, more influential voice, this is your moment.

The Kent & Medway Primary Care Provider Collaborative (PCPC) will launch in 2026 to provide a unified, strategic and influential provider voice for primary care.
