Job summary

Spear Preston, in partnership with Preston Minster, is recruiting a Centre Manager to oversee the delivery of the Spear Programme. You will lead coaching and training sessions, coordinate staff and volunteers, and build strong links with partners to support young people into work or education.

This full‑time, 9‑month fixed‑term contract starts January 2027, with a salary from £27,000. Working hours are 9:00–17:00, with occasional evening events; 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Active Christian, dedicated to representing the values and ethos of Spear.
• Passion for social justice, especially supporting young people into employment or education.
• Dynamic and engaging, with enthusiasm for group and 1-1 coaching and training.
• Self-motivated with strong leadership, management and organisational skills with initiative.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and a sense of fun!

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of the Spear Programme at Preston Minster.
• Coordinate coaching sessions and training for participants and volunteers.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with SPEAR and Preston Minster.
• Lead and manage centre staff and resources to ensure high-quality delivery.
