We’re proud to be working exclusively with Workman LLP, the UK’s largest independent commercial property management and building consultancy firm, to recruit a forward-thinking Centre Manager for Manchester Fort Shopping Centre, a flagship retail destination in North Manchester with a loyal customer base and a vital community footprint.

At Manchester Fort, the centre is more than a collection of shops, it’s a hub for local families, workers, students, and visitors. You’ll be the driving force behind initiatives that make a difference, from community events and charity partnerships to local collaborations that boost loyalty, footfall and tenant success.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, compliance, team management, site standards and contractor performance across this high-profile retail park
  • Design and deliver targeted marketing campaigns and activations that promote the centre, engage the customer base and support occupiers
  • Collaborate with occupiers to develop promotional activities, campaigns and events that increase dwell time and drive sales
  • Maximise opportunities across the scheme, including RMUs, mall events, brand activations and pop-up partnerships
  • Build relationships with local authorities, schools, charities, and organisations to embed the centre in the local community and deliver initiatives that benefit all parties. When the centre gives back, the entire ecosystem thrives, footfall increases, brand loyalty grows, and retailers perform better
  • Inspire a high-performing team and contracted workforce with a clear focus on service excellence, professionalism and continuous improvement
  • Maintain robust procedures around H&S, emergency planning, audits, and statutory obligations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience managing a shopping centre, retail park or large multi-let commercial asset
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience in budget oversight, service charge management and income generation
  • A confident leader with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A passion for placemaking, marketing, and community engagement
  • A deep understanding of operational best practice, compliance, and sustainability
  • Someone who thrives in a varied, fast-paced and people-focused environment
