A leading university in the UK is seeking a Centre Manager for their new EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training, Water-WISER. The successful candidate will oversee management processes, engage with stakeholders, and support various administrative functions within the university, contributing to the success of multiple projects. Are you capable of working independently within tight timescales and providing a professional, supportive administrative service to a diverse group of stakeholders?
As Centre Manager, you will support the Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) and the Management Board in managing the CDT, focusing on administrative matters and their ongoing review and update as the CDT develops. The role involves academic administration and management functions, requiring interaction with various university departments including the Doctoral College, Faculty of Engineering Graduate School Office, Finance, Marketing, IT, and Human Resources. You will also engage with external stakeholders such as industry partners, international collaborators, and the funding body (EPSRC).
Candidates should have significant project management experience, strong reasoning and analytical skills, and substantial professional and managerial experience. Administrative experience in Higher Education or equivalent is essential, along with strong leadership skills and the ability to sustain the long-term viability of the CDT. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to managing the CDT, you will contribute to the management of other funded research projects within the School of Civil Engineering on a fractional basis, as needed.
This position is based at the University of Leeds campus with potential for hybrid working arrangements. We are open to discussing flexible working options.
