Job summary

National Skills Agency seeks an organised and motivated Centre Manager to lead the Thurrock training centre, oversee the curriculum, staff, and daily operations, and drive learner achievement in line with the company vision.

You will guide the centre team, manage relationships with local authorities and referral partners, monitor KPIs, safeguard learners, and ensure high quality education across all courses.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above required.
  • SEN qualifications or experience desirable/essential as stated.
  • Experience managing teams in an educational setting.
  • Proven ability in curriculum delivery and quality assurance.
  • Experience with EHCP processes and safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the education and training centre team.
  • Provide strategic leadership for centre operations and curriculum.
  • Build and extend local and national relationships to support growth.
  • Arrange interventions for learners at risk and track progress.
  • Attend network meetings with referral agencies and local authorities.
  • Maintain learner behaviour and attendance at the centre.
  • Collaborate with tutors to ensure high-quality education across courses.
  • Oversee EHCP reviews and ensure timely targets are met.
  • Monitor safeguarding and report to safeguarding manager.
  • Manage learner recruitment to reach centre capacity.
  • Coordinate with finance to monitor centre finances.
  • Engage with families and young people to support progression.

Job description

Our client are looking for an organised, motivated, and solution-focused individual to manage their training centre in Thurrock. The Centre Manager will play an integral role by ensuring effective management of the centre team, operations, and curriculum, be the lead for effective and successful implementation of the company vision resulting in learner achievement, success and sustainable training centre for learners who require additional support to progress.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To lead and manage the team of the education and training centre implementing the companies vision and curriculum.
  • To provide strategic and effective leadership for the operational success of the centre through effective staff management.
  • To implement methods to build and extend effective local and/or national relationships that support the growth of the centre.
  • Responsible for ensuring support interventions and put in place for any learners that maybe at risk
  • Attend network meetings with all referral agencies, and local authorities, to ensure the centre is positioned effectively to support these stakeholders.
  • Manage the behaviour within the centre when required
  • To work with the tutors to ensure learners are receiving good quality education across all courses.
  • To effectively oversee the behavioural management and attendance monitoring of learners.
  • Manage the learner recruitment process by effectively reaching centre capacity.
  • Effectively manage the EHCP process within education ensuring targets are being achieved.
  • Ensure EHCP’s are reviewed timely
  • Safeguarding is acted on promptly and reported to the safeguarding manager.
  • Monitor KPIs and report to the Director of Youth Programmes
  • Monitor and manage the centre's finances with the finance department.
  • Meet and build relationships with families and young people.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Management qualifications from Level 3 (Desirable)
  • Quality assurance qualification (Desirable) or willing to work towards
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths at grade C or above (Essential)
  • To have experience managing teams within an educational setting (Essential)
  • SEN qualifications or experience (Essential)
  • Experience and understanding of an EHCP (Essential)
  • Background in further education either with a training provider or College
  • Experience in managing administrative responsibilities ensuring operational tasks are successful. (Essential)
