Job summary

Alliance Healthcare, a Cencora company, seeks a Head of Central Logistics Centre to lead a highly automated warehouse operation in a 24/7 environment. Senior leadership with autonomy over strategy, budgeting and continuous improvement will drive performance and service excellence.

You will shape the future of our logistics capability, collaborating with transport, IT, engineering and commercial teams while championing safety, inclusion and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a function and building engaged teams.
• Experience in an automated warehouse environment preferred.
• Pharmaceutical distribution or healthcare supply chain experience desirable.
• Strong leadership and change management skills.
• Knowledge of WMS/TMS and warehouse automation.
• Financial acumen and budget ownership.
• GDP, MHRA and quality standards understanding.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Lean, Six Sigma or CI experience advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Central Logistics Centre.
• Develop and optimise automated warehouse systems and robotics.
• Oversee receipt, storage, picking, returns and recall processes.
• Drive continuous improvement using data and KPIs.
• Monitor KPIs for compliance, service, fulfilment, inventory and costs.
• Lead and develop a multi-skilled operations team.
• Manage workforce planning, performance reviews and training.
• Promote diversity, equity and inclusion on site.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering to resolve automation issues.
• Ensure GDP/MHRA/Home Office compliance and audits.
• Lead safety and risk management across site.
• Support ESG goals by reducing waste and energy use.
• Manage operational budget and cost-saving opportunities.
• Build relationships with transport partners and unions.
• Lead on resolving operational challenges and customer complaints.
• Contribute to growth planning and future logistics strategy.
