Job summary

AMS Skills Creation, in partnership with the Office for National Statistics (ONS), is hiring a senior manager to lead the Census Test operation in Cardiff or Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The role focuses on field leadership, coordinating Household and Communal Establishments operations, and driving participation and high-quality data capture.

The position requires experience managing dispersed teams, using performance data to improve outcomes, and the ability to travel within the area.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or coordinating teams in an operational delivery environment.
• Strong ability to use data, evidence and management information to drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Household and Communal Establishments operations, coordinating with local stakeholders and Census Engagement Managers.
• Support Team Leaders and Officers to maximise questionnaire completion.
• Oversee remote field teams and serve as main point of contact for Team Leaders.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to understand local communities and support participation.
• Monitor and analyse performance, implementing interventions as needed.
• Travel within the assigned area and manage resources, budgets and expenses.
