The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is running a Census Test in 2027. This field-based Team Leader (Household) role with AMS Skills Creation supports local households to participate, with full training provided and reimbursement of travel expenses.
You’ll lead and coach a team across your area, plan workloads, ensure safety and data quality, and paperless reporting using digital tools. Start Feb 2027 for ~8 weeks, 37 hrs/week, some evenings and weekends required.

AMS Skills Creation are working in partnership with ONS to invite early interest from motivated, community-minded people interested in leading a Team who’ll support local households to take part in this important project.

As a Team Leader (Household), you will coordinate and support a team of Household Officers working across your assigned area.
This is a field-based leadership role, not an office-based position. Travel within your assigned area will be required, with expenses reimbursed in line with ONS travel policies.
You will begin with a comprehensive one-week training programme designed to give you everything you need to succeed.

The Census helps shape decisions about public services, housing, transport, healthcare and education. By joining the Census Test team, you'll play an important role in ensuring communities are accurately represented and that future census operations are as effective as possible.

Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Times: Between 8:00am and 8:00pm and will require flexibility
Evening and Weekend Availability: Some of your working hours are expected to be during evenings and weekends
