We have an exciting opportunity for a Cemeteries Manager to join us! This is a full‑time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £37,526 – £41,613 per annum.

The role

To implement the council’s policies and standards for the efficient and effective management of Cemeteries.

Your role will involve:

  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that the council’s Cemetery Service is developed and delivered within statutory requirements and that the needs of bereaved families are sensitively managed.
  • Communicate/liaise with residents, Councillors, users and external organisations on service delivery.
  • Identify and implement improvements in service delivery.
  • Supervision and monitoring of cemetery services within the Grounds Maintenance Contract.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • High level of sensitive interpersonal skills and empathy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work positively with residents, community groups and contractors.
  • Ability to develop and manage strong and effective partnerships.
  • Good negotiation skills.
