Job summary

The Dewis Centre for Independent Living invites applications for a part-time Personal Assistant role in Cardiff to support a young man with autism. The position involves 6 hours per week in the community, with duties including companionship, facilitating activities, and promoting independence, while ensuring safety and positive engagement.

Salary is £15.70 per hour. DBS checks are required, and employment is not in the PA's home.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with autism would be beneficial.
• Part-time role with a National Insurance number required.
• DBS check will be required at no expense to you.
• Wages paid every 4 weeks and 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata.
• Support cannot be carried out in the personal assistant’s own home.

I attend college four days a week and enjoy keeping active and getting out into the community.Some of my favourite activities include going for walks, watching movies, swimming and playing pool and snooker. I enjoy getting out and about, trying different activities and having someone to chat and spend time with.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking for a friendly, caring and enthusiastic Personal Care Support Worker who can support me to stay safe, happy and engaged throughout the day.The main purpose of the role is to keep me safe and stimulated, encourage me to take part in activities that I enjoy and help me develop my independence and life skills.It is important that I am supported in a positive way that encourages me to make my own choices and enjoy new experiences.

RATE OF PAY

£15.70 per hour

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Support cannot be carried out in the personal assistant’s own home.
