Dewis Centre for Independent Living is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a teenager in the Ely area of Cardiff. The role covers 3 hours per week, split into 1.5 hours over 2 social calls, with duties across home and community settings. Car owner and driver essential, with pay at £14.65 per hour and a 4‑weekly pay cycle.

This is a proper part-time position requiring a National Insurance number. A probation period applies and holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks pro rata.

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Support cannot be carried out in the personal assistant’s own home.

Personal AssistantA LITTLE ABOUT MYSELFI am a teenager living in the Ely area of Cardiff. My hobbies include drawing, gaming, going to the cinema and Marvel movies. I have a diagnosis of Autism and can feel overwhelmed in crowded or noisy places. I like to know what’s planned in advance so I know what’s going on. I can be shy at first but it’s important that a good rapport is built up.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support me out in the community and to encourage me to socialise.

PLACE OF WORK

In my home and out in the community.

HOURS OF WORK

3 Hours available each week.1.5 hours x 2 social calls.Days and times to be discussed at interviews.

RATE OF PAY

£14.65 per hour.

TASKS INVOLVED

Going out into the community and doing an activity of my choice.Going to the gym.
