Job summary

Dewis Centre for Independent Living in Cardiff Bay is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a non-verbal autistic young adult to access the local community and participate in activities. The role is part-time and requires a National Insurance number; a DBS check will be provided at no cost.

Personal Assistant to Adult to Cardiff Bay area of Cardiff. Support is needed out in the community.

£14.90 per hour.

Car driver is desirable for this position.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Support cannot be carried out in the personal assistant's own home.

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELFI am a non-verbal autistic young adult living in the Cardiff Bay area. I experience delays with my speech and communication skills. I need a personal assistant to support me to access the local community and participate in activities. I enjoy going to the parks, trampolining, walking and riding my bike.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support me to safely access the community.

PLACE OF WORK

In my home and the local community to help me access activities.

HOURS OF WORK

6 hours during term time 9 hours during school holidays

RATE OF PAY

£14.90

TASKS INVOLVED

• Accompany me to places of my choice.


• Assist me with daily tasks.


• Assist me with meals and snacks.


• Make sure I am kept safe.


• Encourage me to explore more interests.
