Job summary

The Grand Junction Arms, tucked by the canal just outside Tring, is seeking a Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen. You’ll run your own station, cook fresh seasonal dishes to spec, and collaborate with the Sous and Head Chef on new menus.

We offer £13.50–£14.50 per hour, plus a share of card tips, 50% off food, 20% drinks, and 28 days holiday. There is clear development towards Sous Chef within our growing independent pub group.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CDP in a fresh-food kitchen (or strong Commis ready to step up).
• Organised and reliable with great attention to detail.
• Passionate about fresh ingredients and seasonal cooking.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Ambitious to progress towards more senior chef roles.

Responsibilities

• Run your own section with consistency and pride.
• Preparing fresh, seasonal dishes to spec and high standards.
• Working closely with the Sous and Head Chef on new dishes and specials.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and compliant at all times.
• Supporting junior chefs and learning from senior team members.
• Contributing ideas for menus and improving processes.
