Job summary

Rullion seeks a Design Construction Safety Assurance Lead on a contract basis to support the Head of Health & Safety across the Hinkley Point C project. The role focuses on assurance of Principal Designer activities and the management of design risk under CDM 2015.

You will conduct system and field-based health and safety inspections on site and off-site locations, collaborate with designers, project managers and contractors, and develop a robust Health & Safety File as construction progresses.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
• IOSH membership with Chartered status desirable or progression towards Chartered.
• Minimum of ~5 years' health and safety experience in construction/engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 and designer duties.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Health & Safety in providing effective health and safety assurance across the HPC project.
• Focus on assurance of Principal Designer and designer arrangements under CDM 2015 and the Health & Safety File.
• Establish a risk-based Client assurance approach over Principal Designer activities and development of the Health & Safety File during construction and handover.
• Undertake management-system assurance and practical field-based H&S inspections on-site and off-site locations.
• Interpret legislation and standards and communicate findings in clear assurance reports to diverse audiences.
