Job summary

The Health and Safety Partnership Limited is seeking an experienced CDM Consultant/Principal Designer to join its expanding team. You will manage a varied portfolio of projects, advise on CDM compliance and support clients in meeting statutory responsibilities.

Hybrid working with around one office day per week, with project activity across the UK and regular site visits to client sites. A NEBOSH qualification or related degree is preferred; IOSH with professional development is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CDM Consultant, Principal Designer, or in construction health & safety
• Full UK driving licence
• IOSH or APS membership or working towards

Responsibilities

• Act as Principal Designer under CDM Regulations on a range of construction projects
• Advise clients, designers and contractors on CDM compliance and health & safety
• Prepare and review Pre-Construction Information Packs
• Produce CDM Risk Registers, Construction Phase Plans and Health & Safety Files
• Undertake site inspections and provide practical guidance
• Build strong relationships with clients and project teams
• Support development of best practice across the business

Working as part of an experienced and supportive team, you\'ll manage a varied portfolio of projects, providing practical CDM advice and supporting clients in meeting their statutory responsibilities.

• Acting as Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations on a range of construction projects
• Advising clients, designers and contractors on CDM compliance and construction health & safety
• Preparing and reviewing Pre-Construction Information Packs
• Producing CDM Risk Registers, Construction Phase Plans and Health & Safety Files
• Undertaking site inspections and providing practical guidance
• Building strong working relationships with clients and project teams
• Supporting the continued development of best practice across the business
• Experience working as a CDM Consultant, Principal Designer or within a construction health & safety role
• A sound understanding of CDM Regulations and wider health and safety legislation
• Excellent communication and report writing skills
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, NEBOSH qualification and/or a degree, HNC or HND in Construction, Health & Safety, Building Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Membership of IOSH or APS (or be working towards professional membership).
• A full UK driving licence

The consultancy has over 25 years' experience delivering specialist health and safety services across the UK, working with clients in commercial property, healthcare, residential, retail, education, industrial, rail and leisure. Most projects are based across Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham, with some further afield. This is a hybrid working role with an expectation of attending the Derby office approximately one day per week.
