Job summary

ABM is seeking a CCTV Operator in Oxford to provide professional security coverage on a 4 on/4 off, 19:00–07:00 pattern. You will perform CCTV monitoring, access control and site patrols, with duties including incident reporting and emergency response. A valid SIA licence and CCTV experience are essential.

You will work collaboratively with security colleagues, manage records, and uphold health and safety standards while maintaining calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor licence is required.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Strong observation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence across the site.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols.
• Monitor and control access and egress points.
• Verify visitor, contractor and staff IDs.
• Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies.
• Monitor CCTV systems and identify suspicious activity.
• Keep accurate CCTV incident records and reports.
• Assist management and police with CCTV footage reviews.
• Ensure CCTV equipment is operational and report faults.
• Perform routine health and safety inspections.
• Report hazards and maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with evacuations and fire alarm activations.
• Record movements of visitors and vehicles.
• Complete daily occurrence books and shift handover notes.
• Produce detailed written incident reports.

SHIFT PATTERN: 4 on 4 off shift pattern - 19:00 - 07:00, 42 hours per week

To provide a professional and effective security presence, ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, contractors, property, and assets. The successful candidate will carry out security duties including access control, CCTV monitoring, site patrols, incident reporting, and response to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

Security Duties

• Maintain a visible security presence throughout the site.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols.
• Monitor and control access and egress points.
• Verify identification and credentials of visitors, contractors, and staff.
• Preventunauthorisedaccess, theft, damage, or criminal activity.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies.

CCTV Monitoring

• Monitor CCTV systemsin accordance withcompany procedures and data protection regulations.
• Identifyand report suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Maintainaccuraterecords of CCTV incidents and observations.
• Assistmanagement and law enforcement with CCTV footage reviews whenrequired.
• Ensure all CCTV equipment is operational and report faultsimmediately.

Safety & Compliance

• Conduct routine health and safety inspections.
• Report hazards, maintenance issues, and security concerns.
• Assistwith emergency evacuations and fire alarm activations.
• Follow all site-specific security procedures and company policies.

Administration & Reporting

• Complete daily occurrence books, incident reports, and shift handover notes.
• Record visitor, contractor, and vehicle movements accurately.
• Maintain clear communication with site management and fellow security personnel.
• Produce detailed written reports following incidents.
• Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door SupervisorLicence.
• Previousexperience in a security role.
• Experience monitoring CCTV systems.
• Good communicationand customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong observation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT andreport-writingskills.
• Flexible approach to working days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Desirable Requirements

• CCTV Public Space Surveillance (PSS)Licence.
• First Aid qualification.
• Experience within commercial, industrial,logistics, or corporate security environments.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
