Are you a registered CBT Psychotherapist/Psychologist with a passion for providing exceptional care?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed CBT Therapist/Psychologist to join our well-established and dynamic Hospital Liaison Psychiatry service. This is a key role within the clinical team within the Liaison service.

It is a fantastic time to join the Liaison Psychiatry service as we are developing our services to CORE24!

This is a part-time role, with the possibility for expansion of role and additional hours in the future.

The Service – Liaison Psychiatry

The Liaison psychiatry service aims to provide mental health advice and support to individuals receiving care and treatment at general hospitals in Kent and Medway. The general hospital staff can refer anyone over the age of 18 who attends A&E or is an inpatient on a medical or surgical ward. The liaison team can then offer advice, support or a full mental and psychological health assessment as appropriate.

We are actively recruiting for these roles across Kent, including Ashford, Thanet, Pembury, Dartford and Medway. Please express your preferred location within Kent when submitting your application.

Main duties of the job

As a CBT Psychotherapist or Psychologist, you will be responsible for offering high-quality assessment and brief interventions with a specific focus on people in distress, related to both mental and physical health conditions.

This is an exciting, varied role with opportunity for development of clinics, consultation, and teaching staff in the multi-disciplinary and hospital team.

You will have access to regular supervision and team support to develop your own practice in Liaison, whilst supporting the MDT in providing quick, effective, accessible services.

CBT Psychotherapist/Clinical or Counselling Psychologist - Essential Qualifications and Experience

You will have a specialist post-graduate CBT qualification with BABCP registration OR a doctorate-level or equivalent BPS approved qualification in Clinical/Counselling psychology with HCPC registration. Experience in a range of clinical settings with the ability to support people in acute distress is required.

Induction

KMPT is committed to supporting all new staff and this includes a comprehensive Induction programme. The programme's duration depends on role and can be from 2 days to 4 weeks (not always consecutive days).

Probation Period: New employees external to Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust are subject to a six-month probationary period.
